Hi nacho,

I would love to comment about ASP.NET 2.0 as I am using it in my websites along with commercial software that I am developing. First off all my sites use the Beta 2 framework as Microsoft allows production usage with the Beta 2 release of .NET Framework 2.0. I use also Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite and find it's one of the best ASP.NET 2.0 IDE's out there. I believe it outbeats PHP with the new data controls. I do not need to code much to access data stored in SQL or Access database and the new user profile controls and web parts make it a very nice robust development area to get started.

So to total up the stuff said above I give .NET 2.0 a huge increase in productive programming and huge decrease in repeative coding along with code reduction by a huge precentage. If you used .NET 1.1 before you will find it so awesome to use 2.0 you won't want to use .NET 1.1. If you come from a PHP background blow PHP off your system and learn .NET 2.0 with Visual Studio 2005 Express Editon or the other editions.

Not sure if anyone else has started using 2.0 but I have been using it and learning it way before November of 2004 so I have been using it almost a yearn and started deploying when Microsoft released the go-live license.

I do recommend people thinking of learning PHP to learn .NET instead as big compaines and corporations mainly use .NET like Ford, Dell, etc.
