Although the description is as important as the title; the title is key to online success.

I'm sorry but I disagree. The title tag has some but limited use, the description tag is nearly useless and can cause more problems than it soves if used incorrectly.
Most search engines don't put much weight on ALT tags and again if overused or are even slightly spammy can cause your site to lose out.

Keywords are important.. however, just one word on a page in Google can give you page 1... you don't need to repeat that word 20 times.

The domain name has little to no use except in marketing unless your main SE is MSN..

Your right title is the key to online success. You need to have eye catching title or title that will attract the attention of the user.

Im glad somebody agrees. It would seem lots of webmasters have very different views on what is and what isnt and in my humble opinon only the search engines themselves no what is, we have a full picture of what it takes to get to the top, but our information into whats most important is mixed up from webmaster to webmaster.
The truth of it is if every webmaster knew what it took to get there, we'd all be #1.....

So its always going to be trial and error, good individual guess work and seeing what works best for other related sites.

The title tag and description can team up to be your ad on the search engine if you do it right. What good is a top ranking if your title and description are junk? Or worse, Google picks your description for you and it's a bunch of random crap. Plan your title and description well, and you'll have an online ad sitting at the top of Google.

There is a lot more than the title though to get your site optimized, but it is important.
