Flash and external links
Hi everyone,
I have a very good position in Google on certain keywords and i think you can all understand i don't want to lose that at all. However, i have to update the site every now and then because it is my portfolio and it has to be up to date.
The portfolio itself is just a flashfile within a page with content and stuff. The flash file has about 20 frames and each frame has a project (picture plus written text), buttons to move to the next or previous frame and most importantly an external url. So basically this file has 20 urls.
The reason iam using flash embedded in HTML is because there are a lot of external links in it. External links are usually bad for your position and therefore iam looking for a legal way to keep them but get rid of the negative effects. Something like a nofollow in HTML.
I have some questions about this:
1. Google wasn't able to read or browse trough Flash in the past, i think it is now, can this be confirmed?
2. Now every frame has an external url, more frames will come in the future. Will this hurt my position?
2.1. If so, what should i do about it?
2.1.1. Will this hurt my current position?
3. Anything i should avoid using Flash?
Thanks for the help.
